WELCOME ABOARD TO NAVAL HOSPITAL CAMP PENDLETON!

Congratulations on your orders to Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton located in beautiful southern California. Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton overlooks the Pacific Ocean and is located approximately 1/2 mile from the main gate at Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, CA. The Base is located approximately 35 miles north of San Diego and 100 miles south of Los Angeles. When you arrive aboard MCB Camp Pendleton, you will either be travelling along Interstate 5 (I-5) or Interstate 15 (I-15).

Directions:

From San Diego and areas north and east of Camp Pendleton, take Interstate 5 to the Camp Pendleton exit. After passing through the main gate of the Base, continue on Vandegrift Blvd. for 0.6 miles. WHAT WILL I NEED WHEN I CHECK IN TO THE NAVAL HOSPITAL?

Let's talk about what you will need to do once you arrive at the Naval Hospital to make your check-in process as smooth as possible. Your first stop will be at the Quarterdeck. This is where you will have your orders endorsed. You MUST report in the Uniform of the Day and have your Service Record (Enlisted) and a copy of your PCS orders. You will then be directed to the Human Resources Department (HRD), Rm. 1055.*

*(If you report to the OOD after normal working hours, then report to MPMD at 07:30 the next working day.)

This is the next step in your check-in process. Here you will be asked to provide a substantial amount of information and will have to fill out a few forms. This step in your process is the most time consuming, but is also the most important.

- Current Address (or BEQ room number)
- Date of Rank
- Date you checked out of your last command
- End of Active Obligated Service (EAOS)
- Ethnic Group
- Home of Record
- NEC/Designator
- Phone Number
- Projected Rotation Date (PRD)
- Years of Education

Officers

- BSC (found on your orders)
- Date of last FITREP
- NOBC

Providers

- Sub-specialty
- Year of Residency

PLEASE HAVE ALL THE INFORMATION WITH YOU WHEN YOU ARRIVE OR YOUR CHECK-IN PROCESS WILL BE DELAYED.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOU CHECK-IN

Command indoctrination is a vital part of your check-in process. Once you arrive, one of your stops will be at the Staff Education and Training Department. Here, you will be given dates for your Welcome Aboard Seminar/Command Indoctrination Course.

This is a two day course and is MANDATORY for all incoming personnel. Below is a list of other classes you will be required to attend based on your Rank/Rate. If you have any questions please contact your command sponsor or the Education and Training Department at 760 - 725 - 1408.

A.D.A.M.S.

(Alcohol and Drug Awareness for Managers and Supervisors) Required for all E-5 and above.

AWARE

(Alcohol Awareness) Required for all E-4 and below.

HM Basic Skills

Hospital Corpsman, E-4 and below only, are required to take this 5 - day course to test their basic skills such as Sutures, and IV insertion.

Customer Relations

Mandatory for all incoming personnel.

Motorcycle Riders

Must check-in with the Motorcycle Safety Coordinator

Joint Safety Center

If you are under 26 years old, you will also need to attend a MANDATORY Driver Improvement Course. This course can be scheduled through the Joint Safety Center, Building 2622, 760 - 725 - 3672. You will not be able to register your vehicle onboard MCB Camp Pendleton without completing this course.

Due to Dec. 24, 2024, being designated as a federal holiday, NHCP services will be affected as follows:
  • The Emergency Department will be remain open.
  • Those patients and beneficiaries with booked appointments will be seen as scheduled unless they wish to reschedule the appointment to a later date.
  • Those wishing to reschedule should call the appointment line at 760 - 725 - HELP (4357) and select option 3.
  • The walk-in immunization clinic will be closed.
  • Pharmacy, Laboratory, and Radiology Departments will be closed to walk-ins.
