Here at NHCP, we believe that healthy weight management is a lifelong commitment. We want to educate you with the appropriate tools and resources to conquer your goals and to become mission-ready! We want to help you improve your overall wellness, prevent chronic disease like Diabetes or Hypertension (high blood pressure), enhancing performance and increasing resilience.
We can teach you how to have a balanced diet by eating nutrient-dense foods, how to engage in regular physical activity, and how to incorporate practical steps into your daily life to achieve optimal wellness.
Shipshape is the Navy’s official weight management program that is designed for active duty members, beneficiaries, and government civilians alike. We aim to focus on behavior change to manage a healthy weight during this 8-session program. Here are the key areas we work on:
- Physical activity
The program starts with participants taking an introductory self-paced online session, followed by attending six in-person group sessions, and concluding with a self-paced online session. Participants must complete all sessions within six months of their first group session.
