The General Surgery Department offers a full spectrum of surgical services to include General Surgery, Acute Care Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, Minimally Invasive Surgery, and Colorectal Surgery.
The Endoscopy Division of the General Surgery Department provides diagnostic EGDs and colonoscopies as well as therapeutic colonoscopies for the evaluation, surveillance and treatment of a variety of gastrointestinal conditions. The Division of Surgical Subspecialties delivers care in the fields of Plastic Surgery, Vascular Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
The General Surgery Department, through the Division of Surgical Subspecialties, is excited to now offer Bariatric Surgery (Weight Loss and Metabolic Surgery) to patients at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton. Working with our colleagues at Naval Medical Center San Diego, the full breadth of bariatric surgical options are available to include Sleeve Gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, Laparoscopic Restrictive Band, and Revision Bariatric Surgery. Eligible beneficiaries who are interested in bariatric surgery may request a consultation via their primary care manager or call the General Surgery Clinic for additional information.
The patient population is comprised of adults and pediatric patients age 13 or older. The mission of the General Surgery Department mirrors the Command's mission to train, to deploy and to deliver quality healthcare.
