Health Services

Internal Medicine & Specialty Clinics

Internal medicine is the medical specialty concerned with the diagnosis, management, and nonsurgical treatment of unusual or serious diseases.

Doctors of Internal Medicine focus on adult medicine and have had special training focusing on the prevention and treatment of adult diseases. Internists are sometimes referred to as the "doctor's doctor," because they are often called upon to act as consultants to other physicians to help solve puzzling diagnostic problems.

Simply put, internists are Doctors of Internal Medicine referred to by several terms, including "internists," "general internists" and "doctors of internal medicine." Don't mistake them with "interns," who are doctors in their first year of residency training. Although internists may act as primary care physicians, they are not "family physicians," "family practitioners," or "general practitioners," whose training is not solely concentrated on adults and may include surgery, obstetrics, and pediatrics.

The Internal Medicine Department houses the primary care Internal Medicine Medical Home and specialty clinics, serving our adult patient population of 18 years and older. Our purpose is to provide quality wellness, patient education, and healthcare services to our beneficiaries either in the role of Primary Care Manager or as a Consultant Provider.

At the Internal Medicine Department, patients are seen by appointment. Appointment times are based on severity of illness, the patient's convenience, and availability. If you are in need of emergency services, Call 911 (an emergency is defined as a threat to life, limb, or sight)
