Inpatient Units
Multi-Service Ward (MSW)
The MSW is a 21-bed unit that provides inpatient medical and surgical care for beneficiaries from newborn to elderly. Our staff is trained to handle diverse diagnoses related to pediatrics, gerontology, obstetrics/gynecology, orthopedics, cardiology, pulmonology and more.
We proudly boast our unique ocean views, flat-screen television, internet access, and comfortable patient rooms which are intended to help our patients heal in a peaceful, calming environment.
To find the MSW, please use the North Elevators to the Third Floor. We are on the West (ocean) side of the hospital, just past Same Day Surgery. The unit is accessible by badge, so please utilize the button on the right wall as you approach the door – our staff will be happy to let you in!
Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
The ICU is a four-bed unit providing close monitoring and first class critical care for patients who need a little extra attention. Our Intensive Care nurses have been trained in some of the busiest and most diverse ICUs in the Navy and provide 24/7 support for adults and geriatrics within the facility.
Our private rooms have state-of-the-art monitoring, internet access, and the ability to remotely consult our colleagues at Naval Medical Center San Diego via tele-medicine.
To visit with someone in the ICU, please contact the Quarterdeck and ask for the ICU. When your loved one is available for visitation, hospital staff will guide you in the right direction for access. We ask you to not bring live flowers into this unit.
Visiting Hours
The Intensive Care Unit and Multi-Service Ward do not have set visiting hours – visitors are welcome at all times of the day or night. The Charge Nurses may adjust the visiting times or the length of visit, depending on our patient’s needs, and to promote their comfort and healing. Click here for our complete Visitor Policy.
